If you are currently homeless or facing homelessness, contact the GA Department of Community Affairs hotline at 844-249-8367 (M-F  9a-5pm) or HomelessInfo@dca.ga.gov to register for the Coordinated Entry System. This is the BEST way to access help.

WOMEN'S HEALTH HELP:

  • Georgia offers Women's Health Medicaid for certain low-income, uninsured women between the ages of 18 and 44. This Planning for Healthly Babies Medicaid covers PAP smears, STI testing and treatment, and contraception. Apply online at Gateway.ga.gov or go to the Newton County Health Department (770) 786-9086 for more information.

  • Georgia offers a Breast and Cervical Cancer screening program that offers free PAP smears (ages 21-64) and mammograms (ages 40-64) for certain low-income, uninsured women. Contact the Newton County Health Department  (770) 786-9086 for more information.

  • The Newton County Health Department and several of the reduced cost clinics listed above (Oakhurst, Helping Hands, etc) also offer discounted GYN services for women who do not qualify for the state programs. Contact the offices directly for pricing and more information.
